She draws silly things. She loves to make people smile. Her influences are Crayon Shin-chan, Ranma ½, An-Pan Man, Miyazaki Hayao, Chibimaruko-chan, and Sylvain Chomet.
She also likes to draw about nostalgia. About the things that never last forever--like a memory, a person, or an object that carries a little bit of you.
Hena’s a Korean and American.
She was born in Seoul, South Korea, and was adopted by a couple in a country of Texas when she was 9. Cultivating and maintaining multicultural lifestyle is essential to her. She always tries to keep those two in harmony.
Hena’s a mom and a wife.
She loves taking care of the two most special people in the world—her partner in crime and her baby girl. There is nothing she cannot do for them.
Hena's influential moments in her life.
Her first life changing experience is when she came to America at 9, 2nd is when she went back to Korea after high school, 3rd is when she met her partner in Athens, Georgia, and 4th is when she birthed her baby girl.
Hena's life goal.
Being closer to her family. Traveling places for adventures. Sustaining myself making art. Staying healthy. Keeping my baby and hubby healthy and happy. Meeting people and influencing them positively. I want to contribute to the improvement of education system and local community.
Hena's past.
Hena earned a B.F.A. in Animation from University of Georgia in 2014, and received a grant to study animation at Savannah College of Art and Design.
Currently, she is juggling lifestyle of a full time mom and a teacher.
Hena now lives in Austin, Texas.
